Final Project

The fall semester is unfortunately coming to a close. It was a great semester full of new people and insight. I will miss my 7-10pm class very much, perhaps not the time but the class itself.
Our final project was to create a collection of photographs conveying time where the images would be united by hand. Like photoshop by hand.

I  wanted this one to be unique. A final word in a way. My piece displays, with blurry photos and uneven cut pieces, the process of peeling and eating away at a banana. The "mistakes" were on purpose the add to the pieces message. The content of this pieces is how the memories of someone slowly fade as the person fades out of reality after death. The fragments of memories become less clear and the quality of the memory dissipates. I thought it would be appropriate to have a death scene as our last project.

Today in class discussed well know compositions in magazines and publications. The most well know is Axial where there is a physical or implied line or edge that dominates the page, determining the direction of text or arrangement. This composition is great for establishing hierarchy of information, or in this case gibberish. Here is a fake advertisement for orange popsicles or dreamsicles
